The real world has more than one variable. Read functions of two variables like a hiker reads a map, take partial derivatives, follow the gradient uphill, discover gradient descent (the algorithm that trains modern AI), find the best point on a constraint with Lagrange multipliers, and compute volumes with double integrals.
