Acids, Bases & Buffers
An acid is a proton donor and a base a proton acceptor: draw the swap with curly arrows and find the conjugate pairs. Then go beyond strong acids: work out the pH of vinegar, build a buffer that holds blood at pH 7.4, fight off a stream of acid with buffer capacity, find a pKa from a titration curve, choose the right indicator, follow an amino acid's charge as the pH changes, and see what extra carbon dioxide is doing to the sea.
